The Reolink Argus 3 Pro wireless security camera has been in the home security space for a while now, and their flagship Argus 2 camera is still going strong. Despite their limited features, these cameras offer 1080p HD video, night vision ranges over 30 feet, and plenty of useful upgrades. Plus, with a 130-degree field of view, you'll get the whole picture, not just a glimpse.
It lacks some standard features like a sports area and a removable battery to compete with other brands, but it's a solid alternative to big-name brands like Arlo and Ring. See from a different perspective how our hands-on testing shows that Reolink is a real contender, albeit a lesser-known brand.

Reolink Argus 3 Pro video & picture quality and features
Video & Picture quality
The video resolution of the Reolink Argus 3 Pro During our testing, trying at different angles to get enough detail and clarity, the video quality in full color took us by surprise, thanks to sharing many of the same features such as glowing LED spotlight, 1440p Video resolution and wireless operation. It's easily comparable to the Arlo Pro 4 in terms of overall video quality, which costs at least $80 more than the former.
Smart home compatibility
Reolink's Argus 2, Argus 3 Pro and E1 Pro work with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, enabling customers to use their voice to control Reolink smart home cameras to get live streams using Google Nest Hubs or Chromecast-enabled TVs. This lets you ask the voice assistant for a live view of the camera feed, but the camera doesn't interact with your smart home in any other way. Still, it's great for checking on kids in the backyard or getting a hands-free view after getting a push notification in the Reolink app.
Reolink customer service
We found a lot of articles and videos in the Reolink official website support center, Youtube and other media centers. These articles provide useful diagrams and explain a lot of technical details, rather than just showing you how to solve common problems. The support center is easy to navigate, and the search bar returns accurate results based on the model (or the problem you're having).
Reolink forum that is a good alternative to the support center, but this kind of user-driven content is harder to digest than support articles. If you cannot find an answer in the support center or forum, you can contact Reolink customer service by submitting a request via the email form.
Finally, it's impressive that the Reolink Argus 3 Pro comes with a two-year warranty, and if you're not satisfied with the product and plan to return it, it's recommended that you restore the camera to factory defaults and remove the inserted SD card before returning it. While two years doesn't seem like a long time, it's double the length of a typical security camera warranty.
Final word
We're touting the Reolink Argus 3 Pro as a budget alternative to the Arlo Pro 4, and in this in-depth comparison you'll see its accuracy, great video quality, affordable solar panel, though the Argus 3 Pro doesn't offer much Everything the Arlo Pro 4 is so great about, but it has a similar look and feel and some of the same features.
If you want more advanced security camera features, the Arlo Pro 4 is a better choice. But if you're looking to save some money while still getting a great camera, you'll love the Argus 3 Pro.
How we reviewed the Reolink Argus 3 Pro
We tested the Reolink Argus 3 Pro wireless camera and three other wireless cameras in the same category at home and in the office for our Reolink camera review. We looked at video quality (under various lighting conditions), recording options, installation, and mobile user experience during our testing.
We tested it outdoors for about a week, both day and night.
Finally, after completing our initial testing, we put the Argus 3 Pro in standby mode to see how battery life fits in with infrequent use by the typical homeowner. Check out our testing methodology to learn more about how we review products.
